Laura Bronstone

Laura Bronstone
is the Owner and Program Director of My Plaground. She is
a USA Gymnastics Instructor Member, a USAG Certified KAT
(Kinder Accreditation for Teachers) Instructor and has completed
the USAG Movement Education and Lesson Plan Development
Preschool Teacher Education Workshop.
Laura is an advanced ballet instructor,
choreographer, professional dancer, certified aerobics instructor
and personal trainer. She is also certified in CPR (infant/child/adult)
and First Aid. Laura is a member of the
National Association for Sports and Physical Education;
American Association for Active Lifestyles and Fitness;
and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation
and Dance. Laura is an advocate for physical
exercise and is the mother of two young children.

Shelly Erskine

Shelly Erskine is a welcome addition to our staff as teacher and coach for First Moves, Little Leapers, Doodlebugs and Beginning Gymnastics classes. Shelly has 10 years gymnastics training with a competitive background in floor activities. She has danced for the past 14 years and continues to compete nationally. She is a USA Gymnastics Instructor Member with Preschool Fundamentals Training. She was a gymnastics instructor for USA Sport Connection in Hollister, CA, an instructor at Sierra Nevada Dance and for T-N-T Cheer. Shelly is the mother of a beautiful little boy named Noah. Shelly is an active volunteer in the community with Nevada County Sheriff Search and Rescue and has studied American Sign Language for the past 8 years with plans to become a professional interpreter.

Kris Norris

Kris Norris has re-joined our Staff as teacher for First Moves, Little Leapers, Doodlebugs and Beginning Gymnastics. Kris joined our staff during the initial year of operation then moved with her family to Chile to explore the country and immerse themselves in the Chilean culture and lifestyle. Kris recently returned to Truckee and we are thrilled to have her back in our studio. Kris has a California Teaching Certificate and Preschool Certificate. After graduating from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, Kris enjoyed a far-flung career in journalism and marketing before returning to school to earn her teaching credentials. She has taught pre-school, elementary and high school. Physical activity is an important part of Kris’s professional and personal life and she likes to focus on including physical activity in the learning process. “Working with children, being creative and having fun is the best part of teaching,” she says. Kris has lived in Truckee for the greater part of 13 years with her husband, Michael, and children, Seamus and Priscilla. Welcome back Kris!

Todd Tanis

Todd Tanis is a gifted and delightful teacher for our Beginning Gymnastics and Gymnastics Level 1-2 classes. Todd has been a boys gymnastics coach for over 10 years in Chico and Mt. Shasta and coached both recreational and boys competitive teams through USA Gymnastics Level 6. Todd is also an alpine ski coach on the Sugar Bowl Ski Team, a musician, performing artist and instructor in piano and voice. Todd enjoys teaching children of all ages.

Robin Search

Robin Search is an exceptional teacher for our Gymnastics Level 3-4 and Adult Gymnastics classes. Robin was a former competitive gymnast, dancer, kinesiologist and has been a gymnastics coach for over 10 years. Robin studied under Olympic gymnastics coaches like Gary Anderson and has a degree in modern dance specializing in release technique with extensive university training in human anatomy and kinesiology. In addition to gymnastics Robin is also an Ashtanga Yoga Instructor. Robin works with gymnasts on progressions in a way that allows everyone to advance and perfect gymnastics skills safely.
